The End-User License Agreement (EULA)
The EULA is a legal agreement between JISHOP Software and the
user (the person using the software). By installing this software program on
your computer, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions of this
EULA. If you do not agree to comply with these terms then you should delete
all JISHOP files from your computer and destroy all backup copies.
JISHOP 5.2 can function at three different levels which are Concise, Plus and Advanced.
About Advanced level
Grant of License: this license allows you the following rights:
This license allows the user to download one licensed copy of JISHOP
on his or her computer for personal use only, for an unlimited amount of time. This software
may not be accessed by local network or shared with any other computer user.
The user is granted access to the full database of dictionary entries, and may download all updated files and future versions of JISHOP kanji dictionary
software free of charge. This does not include separate educational programs
based on JISHOP which may be released in the future.
Educational establishments, and businesses with over 10 employees should
contact vs@jishop-software.com for special discount packages.
If the program does not meet the user's requirements, he or she is entitled to a full refund providing all files are deleted from the computer, and any
backup copies of the software are destroyed.
Any single library may purchase the one copy of JISHOP which may be installed on its computers for public use, or used by staff for referencing purposes.
This means that the software may be loaded onto the local network server,
providing libraries at a different physical address do not access the program
or any part of the database or files.
JISHOP does not pass on personal details to any third party, access confidential information on your computer or employ the use of cookies.
About Plus level
The access to the database at this level is restricted to the 1945 characters from
the official "Kanji for daily use" ("Joyo kanji") list. In all other ways, it gives you the same rights
as Advanced level.
About Concise level
The access to the database at this level is restricted to the 1006 characters from
the official "Educational kanji" ("Gakushu kanji", "Kyoiku kanji") list, and every dictionary entry is given
in concise format. A license if not necessary.
About the Evaluation Version of JISHOP 5.2
The evaluation version of this program allows the user full use of JISHOP 5.2 at Advanced
level for 7 days. After this trial period has expired, the software will switch to Concise level.
To switch back to Advanced or Plus level, you will need to license your copy of JISHOP.
This agreement allows you to
make exact copies of the evaluation version which you may distribute free of
charge. You may also distribute this evaluation version through electronic channels,
providing the website www.jishop-software.com
is clearly stated in connection with the program. You are prohibited from charging,
requesting donations or accepting money of any kind for these evaluation copies.
This software, and all its associated elements are the intellectual propery
of JISHOP Software.
Restrictions on use of JISHOP 5.2
It is prohibited to redistribute the licensed product in any way. It is forbidden to distribute, publish, rent or lease any part of the database or program without
obtaining the express written consent from JISHOP Software.
You may not modify or disassemble the database or any file in this software.
Ownership of both the licensed and unlicensed program and associated elements, such as the logo and tradename, belong to JISHOP Software.
JISHOP Software reserves the right to terminate the EULA if the user does
not comply with the agreement. In such cases, the exact license fee will
be refunded and the user must delete all files from their computer and destroy
all back-up copies of the program.
Limitation of Liability and Warranties
JISHOP Software warrants that this program will work as specified
on the web page and in the help files of the software. The user should be aware
that improvements will be made to the program and rennovated files will be available
for download at regular intervals. JISHOP Software does not claim that the database
is in any way completed. This is clearly specified on the web page.
While every effort has been made to ensure a bug-free code
and test this software, you download and use this software at entirely your
own risk. JISHOP does not accept liability for consequential damages and will
not be held liable for loss of profit, data, damages or any other similar claims.
The remedy for breach of this limited warranty to the exclusive
remedy to the user shall be limited to:
a full refund of the price originally paid for this software product.
correction of the program or replacement of software.
JISHOP Software provides this software in good faith, and will never
knowingly make available software with known defects. All known conflicts with
other programs, when and if reported, will be stated clearly on the JISHOP website.
This EULA constitutes the entire agreement made between the
user and JISHOP software.
